What Would You Like to Know?

WHAT IS A CSA?

A CSA is Community Supported Agriculture, a farming system that allows the farmer to sell shares of seasonal vegetables, flowers, herbs, salad greens, and more, directly to the local community through a membership. A CSA represents a shared commitment, members share the risks and benefits of our organic farm; both the bounty and scarcity. The CSA also provides Kenockee Farms with a secure customer base and financial support for the upcoming season. Join our CSA here!

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE CSA?

Every box comes with a wide variety of fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs we grow here on the farm based on what is in season at the time. Here is a list of varieties we grew last year to give you a better understanding of what you will be receiving each week. We are currently finalizing our seed list for the year and will be sending out a detailed list as it is completed.

By purchasing a Kenockee Farms CSA subscription, you are supporting our emerging local farm and all aspects of farm operations. This includes planning and facilitating harvests to ensure you receive the best quality produce.

A Kenockee Farms CSA runs anywhere between 16-20 weeks depending on the growing conditions. Due to the risks involved with farming, your payment is non-refundable in the event of natural disasters and no specific amount of produce is guaranteed.

WHAT DO YOU GROW?

Fresh and organic produce! All our seeds come from high-quality organic non-GMO seed companies so you know exactly what you are getting. When possible, we also prefer to grow heirloom varieties native to our climate. You can see a full list of what we grow here.

IS KENOCKEE FARMS AN ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE FARM?

Kenockee Farms has partnered with Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) to have our farm verified as a Farmstead and Cropping System.

Verification as a Farmstead System demonstrates our investment in environmental stewardship. The Farmstead System addresses environmental risks on the entire farmstead.

Verification in the Cropping System recognizes that we have taken great strides to ensure our farm reflects a commitment to good stewardship of the land and water.
